Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pizza Components
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
Crust and Toppings
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (about 8 biscuits)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Prepare the oven and dish. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
- Cook the beef mixture. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess fat carefully.
- Season the filling. Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and pizza sauce into the cooked beef and onion. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes to meld flavors.
- Form the biscuit crust. Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and press the dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie dish to create a crust foundation.
- Assemble the pie. Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly over the biscuit crust. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top, then arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese. Finally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese to finish.
- Bake the pie. Place the assembled pie in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the biscuit crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Cool and serve. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly to set before slicing into 6 servings and enjoying.
Notes
- Add your favorite pizza toppings such as mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives to customize the pie.
- Substitute ground turkey for ground beef to create a lighter dish.
- For a crisper biscuit crust, pre-bake the dough in the pie dish for 5 minutes before adding the filling.
