Smoked Salmon Roll-Ups
- 4 slices smoked salmon
- 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup hummus (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill or chives (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh lemon zest (optional, for added freshness)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Carefully thinly slice half a cucumber into long strips. Gather 4 slices of smoked salmon and 1/4 cup of hummus, along with fresh dill or chives and lemon zest if using.
- Assemble the Roll-Ups: Lay one slice of smoked salmon flat on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of hummus evenly over the salmon slice, then layer a few cucumber strips on top. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
- Roll and Garnish: Carefully roll the salmon slice around the cucumber and hummus to form a tight roll-up. Repeat with remaining salmon slices. Garnish each roll with fresh dill or chives and a little lemon zest for added flavor and freshness.
- Serve: Arrange the roll-ups on a serving plate and serve immediately as a light appetizer or snack.
Notes
- For best texture, use a very sharp knife or a mandoline to slice the cucumber thinly.
- You can substitute hummus with cream cheese or a dairy-free spread depending on dietary preferences.
- These roll-ups are best served fresh but can be chilled for up to an hour before serving.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice inside the roll for extra brightness.
