Ingredients
Scale
Sandwiches
- 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 6 slices cheddar cheese, cut into quarters
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese, cut into quarters
Butter Mixture
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Skillet: Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat to prepare for grilling the mini sandwiches.
- Prepare Rolls: Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a sheet. Then separate the tops from the bottoms to create two layers.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Place a mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheese quarters onto the bottom halves of the rolls. Then cover with the roll tops to form the mini sandwiches.
- Make Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with garlic powder, dried parsley (if using), and a pinch of salt. Mix well to create a flavorful garlic butter.
- Brush Sandwich Tops: Generously brush the tops of the mini sandwiches with the garlic butter mixture to add flavor and help achieve a golden crust.
- Grill Sandwiches: Place the sandwiches on the preheated skillet and gently press down with a spatula. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, flipping carefully, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
- Serve Warm: Remove from heat and serve immediately as a delicious snack, appetizer, or party bite.
Notes
- You can prep these sandwiches ahead of time and store them in the fridge, then grill just before serving for convenience.
- For added variety and flavor, try adding ham slices or tomato for a fun twist to the classic grilled cheese.
