Description

This Last Minute Peach Cobbler is a quick and delicious dessert made with canned peaches and a simple batter. With minimal prep and baking time, it delivers a warm, comforting treat perfect for any occasion. The buttery crust topped with sweet peaches is an American classic that can be served as is or with ice cream for extra indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Peach Cobbler

  • 1 can (15 oz) sliced peaches in syrup (undrained)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Melt Butter: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in a 9×9-inch or similar-sized baking dish and put it in the oven to melt while it preheats.
  2. Mix Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until you form a smooth, loose batter.
  3. Combine Ingredients in Dish: Once the butter has fully melted, carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter without stirring.
  4. Add Peaches: Spoon the peaches with their syrup evenly over the batter, again without stirring. If desired, sprinkle ground cinnamon on top for extra flavor.
  5. Bake: Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
  6. Serve: Serve the cobbler warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.

Notes

  • For a fresher option, substitute canned peaches with 2 cups of fresh sliced peaches mixed with 1/4 cup sugar.
  • You can use self-rising flour instead of all-purpose flour, and omit the baking powder and salt.
