Description

Deliciously savory and easy-to-make grilled oysters topped with a rich Parmesan garlic butter mixture, perfect for a quick appetizer or seafood treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Oysters

  • 12 fresh oysters, shucked

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the oysters.
  2. Prepare garlic butter mixture: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Arrange oysters on the grill: Place the shucked oysters on the grill with the shell side down to stabilize them and prevent spilling the toppings.
  4. Add garlic butter topping: Spoon a generous amount of the prepared garlic butter mixture onto each oyster, covering the oyster meat evenly.
  5. Grill the oysters: Close the grill lid and cook the oysters for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the butter mixture is bubbling and the Parmesan cheese turns golden and slightly crispy.
  6. Serve immediately: Carefully remove the oysters from the grill. Optionally garnish with extra chopped parsley, and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the oysters.

Notes

  • Use fresh oysters for the best flavor and texture.
  • If you don’t have fresh parsley, you can substitute with dried parsley but use less as it is more concentrated.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the oysters warm with the melted garlic butter topping.
  • This recipe pairs well with crusty bread or a light white wine.
  • Handle oysters carefully when removing from the grill as they will be hot and the butter bubbling.
