Description

Garlic Parmesan Herb Cruffins are flaky, buttery crescent roll pastries infused with garlic, fresh parsley, and Parmesan cheese, baked to golden perfection in muffin shapes. Perfect as a savory snack or appetizer, these cruffins combine the rich flavors of garlic herb butter and cheese with a tender, layered dough for an irresistible treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 3 (8-ounce) tubes of crescent roll dough

Garlic Herb Butter

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Topping

  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray and set it aside to ensure the cruffins don’t stick while baking.
  2. Prepare the Garlic Herb Butter: In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and kosher salt. Mix well until fully incorporated. Reserve 1/4 cup of this mixture to brush over the tops of the cruffins later.
  3. Prepare the Dough: Unroll each crescent roll dough sheet on a clean surface and use a rolling pin to smooth out and blend the perforated lines, creating three large, continuous rectangles of dough.
  4. Add Butter and Cheese: Evenly spread a thin layer of the garlic herb butter mixture over each dough rectangle. Then sprinkle about 3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese evenly over each sheet.
  5. Roll and Cut the Dough: Starting from one long edge, roll each rectangle into a tight log. Cut each log in half, then slice each shorter log lengthwise in half to expose the layers. You should obtain 12 pieces total from the three sheets.
  6. Form the Cruffins: Take each piece of dough and wrap it around your finger, arranging the dough layers so they face outward, forming a muffin shape. Place each formed cruffin into the prepared muffin pan cups.
  7. Top and Bake: Melt the reserved garlic herb butter and brush it generously over the tops of all cruffins. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top. Bake the cruffins in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through baking, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the cruffins from the oven and place them on a cooling rack. Serve warm or at room temperature to enjoy the full garlic Parmesan flavor and flaky texture.

Notes

  • Make sure the butter is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Pressing out the perforations in the crescent dough helps create a smoother, more cohesive dough layers.
  • Rotating the pan halfway through baking ensures even browning of the cruffins.
  • These cruffins can be served as an appetizer, side dish, or snack.
  • For a more intense garlic flavor, add an extra minced garlic clove to the butter mixture.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or reheat briefly before serving.
