Ingredients
Scale
Ice Cream Base
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Equipment
- 8 wooden popsicle sticks
- 8 bar molds or small rectangular containers
Instructions
- Prepare the Ice Cream Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Fill the Molds: Evenly pour the cream mixture into each of the 8 bar molds or small rectangular containers, filling them nearly to the top but leaving space for expansion during freezing.
- Insert Popsicle Sticks: Place a wooden popsicle stick into the center of each mold or container. Ensure the sticks stand upright and are secure.
- Freeze: Place the molds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 6 hours, or until the bars are completely solid and firm to the touch.
- Remove Bars from Molds: To easily release the ice cream bars, briefly run warm water over the outside of the molds to loosen the edges. Gently pull the bars out by the sticks.
- Serve or Store: Serve the ice cream bars immediately for best texture, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for later enjoyment.
Notes
- For extra flavor, fold in small chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fresh fruit pieces into the mixture before freezing.
- Using full-fat dairy products, such as heavy cream, ensures a rich and creamy texture.
- If you do not have dedicated ice cream bar molds, use small disposable containers covered with foil. Poke the popsicle sticks through the foil to hold them upright while freezing.
