Ingredients
Scale
Buffalo Chicken Filling
- 1 lb cooked shredded chicken
- ½ cup buffalo sauce (adjust to taste)
- ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (half of the total)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (half of the total)
Assembly & Baking
- 4 large hoagie rolls
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Remaining ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Remaining ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare the Chicken Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken with buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, and half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Mix everything until well combined and creamy.
- Prepare the Hoagie Rolls: Carefully slice each hoagie roll lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling. Then brush the outsides of the rolls with melted butter for a golden, flavorful crust.
- Stuff the Rolls: Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture evenly into each hoagie roll, filling them generously. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top of the filling for an extra cheesy finish.
- Bake: Place the stuffed hoagie rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, slice, and serve hot for a delicious, cheesy buffalo chicken experience.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to make the subs spicier or milder according to your preference.
- You can substitute ranch seasoning mix with blue cheese dressing or seasoning for a different flavor twist.
- For extra crispiness, broil the subs for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking but watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Leftover subs can be wrapped and refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven for best texture.
