Description

Delicious and refreshing Blueberry Swirl Yogurt Bites made with creamy Greek yogurt and a sweet, natural blueberry puree. These bite-sized frozen snacks are perfect for a healthy treat or a quick dessert that combines the tanginess of yogurt with the natural sweetness of blueberries.

Ingredients

Scale

Yogurt Mixture

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (or any yogurt of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Blueberry Puree

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blueberry Puree: In a small saucepan, heat the blueberries over medium heat until they begin to soften and release their juice, about 3-5 minutes. Mash the berries with a spoon or use a blender for a smoother consistency. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds if desired. Allow the blueberry puree to cool completely.
  2. Mix the Yogurt: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract (if using), mixing until smooth and creamy.
  3. Swirl in the Blueberry Puree: Gently fold the cooled blueberry puree into the yogurt mixture, creating a marbled effect. Avoid fully mixing to keep visible blueberry swirls.
  4. Scoop the Yogurt Bites: Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper. Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls (about 1 to 2 tablespoons each) of the yogurt mixture onto the tray.
  5. Freeze: Place the tray in the freezer and freeze the yogurt bites for at least 2 to 3 hours or until they are firm to the touch.
  6. Serve or Store: Once frozen, enjoy the yogurt bites immediately or transfer them to an airtight container and store in the freezer for up to 2 weeks for later enjoyment.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor or type of yogurt, but Greek yogurt provides a thicker texture that holds well when frozen.
  • If fresh blueberries are not available, use frozen blueberries that have been thawed first.
  • For a smoother blueberry swirl, blend the puree until perfectly smooth before folding in.
  • Add sweetener according to your taste preference or omit it for a tangier bite.
  • Store the yogurt bites in a single layer initially to prevent them from sticking together, then transfer to a container once frozen solid.
