Description

These Beef & Cheddar Sliders are a delicious, easy-to-make party or game day appetizer featuring tender deli roast beef tossed in tangy BBQ sauce, layered with melted cheddar cheese on soft Hawaiian rolls, and topped with a buttery, sweet, and savory glaze with poppy seeds. Baked until golden and crispy, they make a crowd-pleasing snack or meal in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 dozen Hawaiian dinner rolls
  • ¾ lb very thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 8 slices shredded cheddar cheese

Glaze

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ tsp poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Roast Beef. Toss the thinly sliced deli roast beef with the BBQ sauce until the meat is well coated and flavorful.
  3. Assemble Sliders. Slice each Hawaiian dinner roll horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a 9x13x2-inch baking pan, layer the BBQ-coated roast beef evenly on top, then add the shredded cheddar cheese slices. Place the roll tops on the cheese, completing the sandwich.
  4. Make Glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds. Bring this mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to blend the ingredients well.
  5. Apply Glaze and Bake. Pour the hot butter glaze evenly over the assembled sliders, ensuring the tops are well coated. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, or until the tops are nicely browned and crispy.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use a smoky or spicy BBQ sauce.
  • Cheddar cheese can be substituted with Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for variation.
  • Make sure to slice the rolls carefully to prevent tearing.
  • These sliders are best served warm right out of the oven.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
