Description

These Baked Crescent Sandwiches are a delicious, savory layered baked dish perfect for parties or gatherings. Featuring a flaky crescent roll crust filled with a variety of deli meats, cheese, and a flavorful buttery sauce topped with sesame seeds, they bake to golden perfection and are served warm in convenient squares.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 (8-oz) cans refrigerated crescent rolls or crescent sheet

Meat and Cheese

  • ½ pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • ½ pound thinly sliced deli turkey
  • ½ pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 8 slices cooked bacon
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 slices shredded cheddar cheese

Sauce

  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Partially Bake Crescent Rolls: Unroll one package of refrigerated crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until slightly puffed but not fully cooked.
  3. Make the Sauce: While the dough is baking, combine butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and sesame seeds in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.
  4. Brush Sauce on Dough: Remove the partially baked crescent dough from the oven and brush it evenly with half of the prepared sauce to infuse flavor.
  5. Add Cheese Layer: Place the slices of provolone cheese evenly over the sauced crescent dough layer.
  6. Layer Meats and Bacon: Add the deli ham, turkey, roast beef, and cooked bacon slices evenly over the provolone cheese.
  7. Add Cheddar Cheese: Top the meat layers with the sliced shredded cheddar cheese evenly spread out.
  8. Top with Second Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of refrigerated crescent rolls and carefully lay it over the layered fillings. Press the seams gently to seal the edges and prevent leakage during baking.
  9. Brush with Remaining Sauce: Brush the top layer of crescent dough with the remaining half of the buttery sauce mixture for a flavorful glaze.
  10. Bake Covered and Uncovered: Cover the pan (with foil or a lid) and bake for 20 minutes at 350ºF to cook through. Then, remove the cover and continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked thoroughly.
  11. Slice and Serve: Allow the baked crescent sandwich to cool slightly, then cut into squares and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute provolone and cheddar with your favorite cheeses if preferred.
  • Make sure to press the seams of the crescent roll dough well to avoid filling leakage during baking.
  • Serve these sandwiches warm for best flavor and texture.
  • Leftover sandwiches can be refrigerated and reheated gently in the oven.
  • Use cooked bacon slices for ease and added crispness.
